What made a successful electrical engineer want to become a family doctor in a rural community? “I had a desire to help people and a goal to return to a small community much like the one I grew up in,” Dr. John Wisneski said.
Dr. Wisneski Family Practitioner at He was an accomplished engineer with and impressive resume ranging from designing radars for a company contracted by NASA, to designing satellite pat5rol systems for IBM, to writing software for Storage Tech and for Hewlett Packard. It wasn’t until he injured his ankle while rock climbing that he asked his doctor about the field of family medicine. During that discussion, Dr. Wisneski realized his calling was to help people specifically in rural medicine.

When asked what he likes most about practicing medicine in Dr. Wisneski and his wife love living in the mountains. They have owned a home in Tabernash for the past four years and are looking for a home in Kremmling. “I would love to retire here,” Dr. Wisneski said, ensuring the community of his intentions for long-term, continuity of care desired by so many. By necessity and common to family practice physicians, Dr. Wisneski covers nearly all facets of medicine, dealing with every age of patient, from birth the end of life issues. He looks forward to getting to know a family’s history and helping them with all of their medical needs. More uniquely, he also practices Medical Acupuncture, treating such illnesses as arthritis, depression and pain management. |
